XALT Technologies and ADX partner to reduce manual handling for Conesys
XALT Technologies and ADX reduce manual handling and increase flexibility and automation in high-volume, complex order processing
May 22, 2005 –XALT Technologies and ADX today announced a joint technology solution which combines the benefits of Business Process Modeling and Automation with Internet EDI. The companies will highlight the solution at MPower 2005, the MAPICS international customer conference in Orlando, Florida.
The first customer using the XALT-ADX system is Conesys, a provider of electronic connector products for the military, aerospace and transportation industries. Conesys has successfully automated their order management with Avnet and other key customers.
The solution offered by XALT and ADX reduces manual intervention and lowers costs in manually intensive order processing environments. Inbound orders arrive via ADX, and XALT handles supply chain transaction complexities by enacting custom business rules based on contracts with the customer, the production backlog, and a wide range of variables that govern how the order will be accepted and processed. Standard orders process automatically by XALT through Conesys’ ERP system.
In the event of non-standard and change orders, XALT launches approvals and follow-up documents as defined in the workprocess, wherein ADX handles outbound routing to the customer. The result is a true sense-and-respond capability that allows Conesys to manage by exception, and they do this using workflow forms built into their email system. Conesys’ staff uses a productivity tool they feel comfortable with, and handle only customer orders that require special attention.
Mark Edwards, Chief Information Officer for Conesys, Inc. said, “We were under pressure to respond to a key customer requirement to collaborate via EDI. With the XALT and ADX solution we responded quickly while automating our processes and eliminating manual efforts and errors. In fact, our top customers all want to collaborate via EDI. Conesys will rely on XALT and ADX to deliver that capability while improving our profitability through process automation.”
XALT Technologies develops software used to automate, manage, monitor and optimize a broad range of mission-critical supply chain business processes. They deliver fully integrated solutions using an intimate coupling of email with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP) to dramatically improve workflow and productivity.
ADX, Advanced Data Exchange, analyzes trading partner networks with an eye for automation and driving efficiency in the buyer-supplier relationship. Their hosted EDI and XML translation service allows electronic order processing and related communication with trading partners, regardless of technology capabilities or data format. Thousands of companies transact on the ADX Network every day.
“Every company we work with has processes that touch customers and suppliers”, said Dennis Michalis, CEO of XALT Technologies. “The ability to couple ADX’s capabilities within the context of automating business processes has a huge impact on profitability and focus on competitiveness.”
Tom Stegmann, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ADX said, “When companies receive thousands of orders each day, it’s a huge benefit to move them to exception-based processing. The improvements we deliver with XALT in productivity and time-to-payment are a direct hit to the bottom line.”
