Ellie Mae Adds Servicing Capability with Trakker

Partnership addresses recent broker trend toward interim servicing of loans

DUBLIN, CA—December 15, 2005—Ellie Mae Inc., an award-winning provider of innovative software and services for the mortgage industry, has embarked on a strategic partnership with Multi Financial Services Company, Inc providers of Trakker Loan Servicing Software™ (Trakker).

As a result of the agreement, Ellie Mae will feature direct integration from its Encompass Mortgage Automation System to Trakker. "To date, originators rely on Encompass to enable them to easily market, originate and close loans. Through this integration, they can now also easily service loans without ever missing a beat," explains Joe Langner, chief operating officer at Ellie Mae. "This is exciting news for both brokers who currently interim service their loans—and for those who are considering doing so in the future."

The integration of Encompass and Trakker responds to broker demand to service loans. "In the last five years, the market has changed considerably for brokers," explains Terry Ryan, president of Multi Financial Services. "Instead of selling and immediately table funding to outside investors like Fannie Mae, brokers of all sizes can be seen holding onto a group of loans for interim servicing. They collect one, two or three payments until they aggregate enough loans or the market conditions are right to get a better return. Then they sell the group of loans to the secondary market."

Ryan predicts a continued growth in the number of mortgage brokers interested in servicing loans and becoming lenders. "We're seeing more and more brokers become experienced in interim servicing," states Ryan. "As a result, they're becoming licensed mortgage lenders in their states, thus broadening their opportunity base."

Trakker Loan Servicing Software is an end-to-end solution which enables companies to easily service conventional and non-conventional loans. It includes an automated collections system; a dynamic escrow management system; agency reporting for FNMNA, GNMA, and Freddie Mac; expanded variable interest rate function; flexible escrow accounting; batch import payment capability, and much more. "Our program is very user-friendly, and we offer it at very competitive rates," explains Ryan. "Other servicing software programs cost approximately $6,000 and require investment into additional modules to do escrow accounting, collections, ACH processing, and so on. Our program costs $3,645 for a complete loan servicing software product. And now that we're integrated with Encompass, it only takes a few minutes to set up a loan for servicing. Data is transferred seamlessly from Encompass and is automatically populated into the appropriate Trakker screens."

Trakker features free, unlimited technical support and training on a toll-free telephone line. The company provides free upgrades, and does not charge for access from workstations. An unlimited number of people can access it, and can do so from either a LAN or a WAN. The company simply charges an annual renewal fee which starts at $400 per year.

"Brokers who are venturing into interim servicing can really benefit from our software and services," asserts Ryan. "We not only equip them with the software to service loans, but we can help them do the actual servicing, too."
