We are looking for compelling business opportunities led by seasoned management teams. Ideally the business is delivering innovative solutions and technologies to large and growing markets. As an expansion stage investor, our profile requires trailing revenues and expanding customer pipelines. We prefer to co-invest with well-known regional venture capital firms.
GKM Ventures primarily invests in expanison-stage enterprise information technology companies with proven customer validation, accelerating revenues and attractive profit margins. Initial investments range from $2 million to $3 million, with follow-on fundings bringing the average total investment to $3 million to $5 million.
A select group of our investors are organized in a network that we refer to as our Industry Expert Investors (IEIs). This group adds value by generating high-quality deal flow, helping with due diligence and frequently contributing to the on-going success of portfolio companies. The IEIs are former executives of leading technology companies, including Agilent, Cirrus Logic, Cisco and Siebel.
GKM Ventures focuses its marketing and deal flow origination efforts in the Western United States, with particular emphases on Southern California and the Silicon Valley. In Southern California, GKM Ventures is a founder of the VC Alliance, a group of regional venture firms organized to promote co-investment opportunities. The members meet monthly in Los Angeles to share deal flow and to encourage co-investment opportunities.
